Choosing the Right NLP Therapist for you

How do you know who is the right therapist for you? How do you get the results you want?

Is it all about will? Is it all about Commitment? When is the right time to go and see a therapist? How do you know who to go and see? Is it all about the skill and number of degrees or is about something else…

I drive a lot around Sydney and I've discovered it can be very handy to know many different ways to get to your destination. I believe it's the same with therapy - there are so many different types of therapy to choose from and they can all get you to where you want to go. The only difference is the means of transport (who you feel most comfortable with) and how fast you choose to go.

When you decide that you want to change something, you may need to move out of that old chair which symbolises your problem and do something different. This may seem like an obvious concept but sometimes having a problem or issue... can be comfortable for us - because it's familiar,we know it very well - in some way, it's a safe or comfortable place to be (even though it's not getting you results you want). People are often afraid of what they don't know and it can be easier to stay in the same place where things are familiar than to make a move. As the saying goes.... "Better the Devil you know"... but is it??


This is your life and however you choose to live it, is your responsibility, no-one else can live or change your life for you - do you agree? The decision to make change or not change is a decision only you can make. Having personal commitment in making any change in life is key. Having a willingness to experiment with new behaviours, putting in 100% effort to making time to reflect or exercise new strategies will have a huge impact to your results.
The most important question to ask yourself is…

Are you willing to do WHATEVER it takes to get the results you want?

NLP is not just talking about what you want to achieve - it's about the doing. You’ve heard the expression “Actions are louder than words”. What actions are best to take is something we decide on together, because everyone is different and experiences the world differently.

Many people are unaware of the best actions to take or where to start.
So where do we start, as an NLP therapist I like to gain a clear understanding of where you are right now and even more importantly where is it that you want to be now.


NLP is a results directed type therapy, setting up clear goals so we are all on the same page and have a clear destination.

What’s the first step? I believe it’s about firstly being honest with yourself and simply acknowledging the current situation or challenge that you are looking to change.

The Second Step – Is about making that conscious decision to make change happen and being willing to do whatever it takes to get there.

The third step? Is about reaching out and asking for help. Whether it is to a family member, friend or a professional, Taking that first baby step, leads you towards getting to your goal and no matter how wobbly or shaky it may feel at first when your eyes are set on the end goal and when you are willing to do whatever it takes to get there – it’s worth it.

There are many ways to get around in Sydney, whether by car, foot, rollerblades or boat, the options available to you the possibilities are infinite.
