The aim of Couples Therapy is to develop and assist both partners to:
• Increase respect, affection, and closeness
• Break through and resolve conflict when you feel stuck
• Generate greater understanding between yourself and your partner

Change is inevitable and yet it doesn't need to be the destruction and death of your relationship, instead there is the possibility that it can bring about a new level of closeness, intimacy and stronger connections. There is the possbilities of re-defining who you are inside your relationship.

I base my work on Gottman theories, which is a scientifically researched based approach. The strategies and techniques are based on empirical data of over 3,000 couples.

The goal being is to help couples process those inevitable fights and moments of miscommunication or hurt feelings and look at ways to be able to repair and build on all aspects of the relationship. It’s aimed at breaking through barriers and blocks, learning how to express yourself and be heard; how to achieve greater understanding and perspective; how to connect and work through those difficult conversations and vulnerabilities. Gottmans research focuses on what actually works to help couples achieve a long-term healthy relationship.

The time and energy you invest into all your relationships, will reflect on the growth that is possible for you and everyone connected to you. You may not be aware, but you teach your children through your behaviours and language. You have an enormous opportunity to positively influence and impact not only your immediate family but the generations that follow.
